We have just had another very successful retreat at The Vines Motel in Stanthorpe; lots of wonderful work was done, several new people joined us, there was lots of laughter, great food and the weather was great. Keep checking in for retreat details for next year -I hope to have these up soon, and from the enquiries I am getting you will need to be quick to book.

# 2009 CLASS NEWS

Skill builder groups are held both day and evening times in various places. Jan is able to assist students with designing a quilt, instructions on how to make many different styles, through to quilting and finishing, and it doesn't matter whether it is a new project or an old one that you need help with. Students attend regularly each month and enjoy the ongoing support and friendship that exists within the groups.

OXLEY

Thefour groups at the Oxley Guide hut in Ellen Street are progressing well with a number of new people joining in.

We have very full class numbers now which means our days are busy and productive. We are able to pin quilts as they are finished, and those new to quilting are learning fast.

- 2nd Wed each month - 9am - 3pm and

- 6pm - 10pm

- 4th Wed each month - 6pm - 10pm and

- 4th Thurs each month - 9am - 3pm

Grandvale Skillbuilder

There arefour groups running again this year at Grandvale

- 1st Monday each month - 9am - 3pm and

7pm - 10pm

- 1st Thurs each month - 9am - 3pm

- 3rd Tuesday each month - 7pm - 10pm

The day classes here are full - there is limited space available in the evening groups.

Groups

Courthouse Quilters.

A group that meet for classes with Jan once a month (1st Wed), in relaxed style. The group began in the lovely old Courthouse building in Ipswich, then moved to the North Ipswich Guide hut, as parking was easier.

The original name has been kept.

We are delighted that the quilt the Courthouse group made and presented to Ipswich council for the centenary is now on permanent display in the history section (top floor) of Ipswich Library - take a visit to see the detail.

These are groups that meet to stitch and chat, to share and learn, some are connected to the state group of Queensland Quilters (www.qldquilters.com) others are just groups of friends. Many hold class days with Jan, some in private homes, others in halls etc.
