What an amazing few months we have just had! I have finally found time and space to bring you up to date.

It has been a busy time for our family, our youngest Nat was married in mid Nov, so Peter & I have downsized, bought a new workspace/house to work from in the city and we have renovated and moved in and we are almost ready to start - only a few last minute touches needed!

I will add some pictures when the furniture is here.

# 2010 CLASS NEWS

New workshops will be held at Quilt Therapy's new city base - look for the program soon, or contact Jan if you have requests.

Log Cabin is top of this list so that all of you who would like to have quilts hanging in the Queensland Quilters' Show this year will get some great tips and ideas. The workshop will cover the many looks and styles of Log cabin rather than a specific quilt.

SKILL BUILDERS

The Skill builder groups will continue this year and instead of the Oxley Guide hut, they will now be at the new address.

The Courthouse group and Grandvale groups will continue on the same days and venues as last year.

For all of these groups, Jan is able to assist students with designing a quilt, assist with instructions on how to make many different styles, through to quilting and finishing, and it doesn't matter whether it is a new project or an old one that you need help with. Students attend regularly each month and enjoy the ongoing support and friendship that exists within the groups.

Yeerongpilly

Cottage Groups

These are groups that meet to stitch and chat, to share and learn, some are connected to the state group of Queensland Quilters (www.qldquilters.com) others are just groups of friends. Many hold class days with Jan, some in private homes, others in halls etc. If your group is looking for a tutor check out Jan's workshop list, or contact by email to see what can be arranged.

Courthouse Quilters

To see the quilt the Courthouse group made and presented to Ipswich council for their centenary, which is now on permanent display in the history section (top floor) of Ipswich Library - take a visit to see the detail, or click on the photo to see the full quilt.

Shops

With my wonderful new space in Yeerongpilly to teach from, I will not be able to teach on a regular basis at other shop venues around Brisbane, however there may be the opportunity for some classes, I keep you informed.
